This year we are offering a similar course with four in person gatherings and four online sessions spread throughout the year to mark the changing seasons. There will be an Introduction to the Wheel of the Year on the 28th September 2024 to as a taster day to get a sense of what the Weel of the Year ininvolves.

To bring about any change into the pattern of our lives, and to explore other aspects of ourselves can be challenging; just finding space and remaining grounded in the here and now is rarely easy.

This year long course, piloted over the last few years, was initially set up to support retreat participants integrate the good stuff from the retreats back into their daily lives - a way of keeping the threads of connection alive.

We have now developed it so that it is a stand alone course with no previous retreat experience necessary, offering similar enquiry through a variety of practices and intentions.

WHAT IS BEING OFFERED:

The Wheel of the Year now offers a series of four in person gatherings and four online sessions to support a small group, of no more than ten participants, stay connected and grounded through the eight seasons of the year. Each season is framed around a specific enquiry and supported by a variety of practices to bring focus and awareness to the changing year. It is a space to reflect, to let go, to re-imagine, to grow, to embody and to celebrate.

  • Four in person day long Gatherings here at Sunnybank Farm in Cornwall. The sessions will run from 10-4 on a Saturday closest to the festival date and will include lunch, teas and coffees.

  • Four online sessions, two hours long, to learn from and celebrate the changing seasons of the year.

  • With each season there will be a specific Seed question to support change and deepen relationship to nature, self and community as we move through the year.

  • Each call and gathering will be an opportunity to share experiences of the Nature Practices and listen to eachothers responses to the Seed questions.

  • The Seed Question and Nature Practices will be sent out via email at the start of each season. On average there are three practices with each season. Some of the practices are short (perhaps only a few minutes long) others will take longer and while repeatable could also stand alone as single practice.

  • Each season will focus on a specific tree, as we explore aspects of the Celtic Tree Calendar.

  • It is recommended that all the practices are done out in nature, but they don’t all have to be far out in nature, - the garden, the park or anywhere outdoors with a view of the sky will be fine.

  • Reflections, questions and photos can be posted on the whats app chat to support the process.

  • The 1:1 buddy system enables each participant to make contact with each other as often as they choose throughout each season.

  • The online calls offer a way to check in with the group and share whatever you feel like sharing in a way that is useful and supportive.

  • There is no obligation to do all the practices or be on all the calls but perhaps to aim for at least 80% participation would be beneficial.
